INFRASTRUCTURE
Groundwork: Why It Matters
Infrastructure is one of the most important responsibilities any Mayor and Council can take on—and it’s the area where Mountain View has made some of its biggest strides.
Promises Made, Promises Kept
When I first ran for office, I promised to make infrastructure a top priority. Together with our dedicated staff and consultants, we’ve delivered:
- Stormwater Improvements: We carried forward Mayor Levy’s grant-funded project to upgrade curbs and gutters on W. 41st Avenue—reducing flooding and improving drainage.
- A 10-Year Infrastructure Plan: For the first time, Mountain View has a comprehensive roadmap for funding and maintaining our streets, sidewalks, alleys, and more.
- Sidewalk Repairs: We launched a fair, transparent program to help residents fix broken sidewalks—making our neighborhood safer and more walkable.
- Tree Planting: We replaced dying trees and planted new ones. Trees reduce heat, beautify our streets, and make our town more comfortable and inviting.
Cleaner, Safer, Better Maintained
I also promised to tackle everyday issues like snow removal, overgrown weeds, and unsafe alley conditions. While there is still work ahead, we now have a robust code enforcement process that responds quickly, educates residents, and helps prevent problems from piling up. No more weeks of abandoned mattresses or neglected alleys—Mountain View deserves better.
Looking Ahead
If re-elected, I will keep pushing forward by:
- Continuing the sidewalk repair program and expanding support for residents.
- Planting more trees and green infrastructure to fight heat and improve curb appeal.
- Supporting long-term investments that ensure our streets, sidewalks, and alleys are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Strengthening communication and education so residents know what to expect from code enforcement and infrastructure projects.
Gratitude for Our Public Works Team
Our Public Works staff have been true partners in this work—planning comprehensively, communicating proactively, and serving our town with diligence and care. Mountain View is stronger thanks to their efforts, and I look forward to continuing this progress together.
