MAYOR & COUNCIL
Groundwork: Why It Matters
Good governance is the foundation of a thriving town. When I first ran for Mayor, I promised to strengthen our Council so they could carry out the responsibilities outlined in our Charter with confidence, knowledge, and integrity. Without strong systems and a respectful, transparent leadership table, our progress on every other issue would stall.
Promises Made, Promises Kept
We’ve made important strides to build a stronger Council and a healthier government:
- Training & Education: Council Members now receive regular training on legal and procedural responsibilities, giving them the tools to make informed decisions.
- Better Governance: We strengthened how Council operates, how Town Hall connects with residents, and how departments and employees fulfill their missions.
- Productive Conversations: Even in emotional or difficult moments, our debates have stayed focused and productive—ensuring good ideas are heard and explored.
- Transparency & Access: Nearly 100 residents now receive Council agendas and packets directly, compared to just a handful in the past. Meetings are recorded with high-quality video and audio, posted to the website, and easy for the public to access.
Looking Ahead
There’s still work to do. If re-elected, I will continue to:
- Foster a culture where different perspectives are welcome without creating division.
- Reduce opportunities for personal drama at the leadership table.
- Keep integrity and respect for municipal law at the center of our decisions.
- Strengthen transparency and invite even more residents into the conversation.
A civil, respectful leadership table goes a long way—and I am committed to continuing this growth.
Gratitude for Our Community
I’m deeply grateful to the residents who attend Council meetings, ask questions, and stay engaged. I’m thankful for our dedicated staff and my colleagues on Council who do the hard work of governing every day. Together, we’ve built a more professional, transparent, and accountable system of government—and with your support, we can keep moving forward.
